Omagiu Ducelui de Edinburg / Tribute to The Prince Philip
(Romania’s National Press Agency AGERPRES, 15 April 2021) Her Majesty Margareta Custodian of the Romanian Crown said on Thursday in Arad that she has fond memories of The Prince Philip of The United Kingdom, noting that he was a role model for her in terms of involvement in charitable or social activities. “He and my grandmother were relatives. They also inspired me for this type of work, social, such as the Red Cross. He was a mentor. I have beautiful memories, from childhood and since I was young (…) I have beautiful memories, all my life”, Her Majesty said.
In turn, Prince Radu underlined that the social and charitable activity of the Romanian Royal Family is inspired by Queen Elizabeth II and The Duke of Edinburgh. “Both are champions: the Duke granted over 900 royal patronages, and the Queen, around 600. When they began this activity early in their life, little of it was known in the world. The Prince dedicated his whole life to those in society with fewer possibilities, to people, whether elderly or children, or poor, or students who did not have the means to continue. Both are a great source of inspiration. The Queen and the Duke dedicated a lot of their life to issues related to people less fortunate than them”, said Prince Radu.
